Symphony No. 2 "What Remains of the Night"

Tiago Vieira

This project is a compliment to the marginal body, to poetry and intimacy. It is a praise of identity and the right to the margin, as a way of resisting the desertification of beings and places in an attempt to return to an impossible childhood and the crime of wishing to reinvent love.

A marginal body between rage and melancholy, a body of desire and of encounters.

For the creation of this performance, the relationship between text, in the form of poetry, and dance will be addressed, starting from the experience we are living, of desert and empty streets, and the lack of contact between bodies.
In the form of poetry, because this is a very criminal artistic manifestation - if we take into account the mythology of so-called damned poets. Because if poets and poems were not dangerous, or could not truly create free people in permanent metamorphosis, no regime would have burned books, imprisoned and sometimes sentenced poets to death.

Theater here will be approached as a privileged way to establish unforgettable encounters that enhance human transformations from an idea of intimacy, confrontation, and manifestation. The project seeks a multidisciplinary theater that approaches the idea of Total Work of Art. A theater that establishes a poetic relationship with the world and with the other, that preserves the importance of a dramaturgy-rizma, that contaminates itself with different areas of thought, such as philosophy and sociology, but also with other artistic areas. In the case of this project we intend to explore, above all, the tension between theater and dance.

An original text will be created by Tiago Vieira from fragments, notes, resonating diaries written in the last two years.
