Mercedes Quijada

Mercedes Quijada was born in Granada in 1991. Graduated in contemporary dance at the Conservatory Queen Sofía of Granada, she was a student of Manolete and Mariquilla. Graduated in Fine Arts, post-graduated in Artistic Education, she lives in Porto, where she researches improvisation in dance and its relationship with the plastic arts, voice and theater.
She has worked with José Agudo, Jorge Crecis, Antonio Ruz, Poliana Lima, Eva la Yerbabuena and Victor Hugo Pontes. She participated in Let 's Dance Europe directed by DE LooPERS-dance2gether and Cova projet, by Mafalda Deville.
She is creator and performer in Lowlands, directed by Helder Seabra, of Companhia Instável. She is the creator of the Perforartes program at the Artes - Mota Galiza gallery in Porto, of which she is one of the curators.
