Henrique Furtado
Henrique Furtado Perestrelo Vieira holds an Energy and Environmental Engineering degree from INSA Lyon, France, and the Federico Santa Maria Technical University, Valparaiso, Chile. He has worked in the area of management and energy valorisation of crop residues. Dancer, performer and choreographer, Henrique Furtado Vieira lives and works between Portugal and France. He trained as an artist in several French institutions (INSA Lyon, Extensions – CDC de Toulouse, Prototype II and Dialogues III – Abadia de Royaumont) and collaborated as performer with various artists such as Bleuène Madelaine, Eric Languet, Aurélien Richard, Céline Cartillier, Tino Sehgal and Vera Mantero, among others. Apart from this, he has been influenced by a number of artists such as Sophie Perez and Xavier Boussiron. He is presently collaborating with Aloun Marchal and Chiara Taviani in creating performances where there is an overlay of styles and genres, and where voice and imagination play an important part.
