Mafalda Lencastre

Mafalda Lencastre is a PhD student in Artistic Studies - specialization in Theatrical and Performative Studies, by the University of Coimbra. Degree and Master in Sound and Image by UCP Porto and Universitat Pompeu Fabra Barcelona (Comunicació Audiovisual). Attended the professional course professional course in Acting and a Master in Performing Arts at ESTC in Lisbon. Parallel training in dramaturgy, movement and photography. He did parallel training in acting, dramaturgy integrating acting, dramaturgy, movement and photography workshops (o Corpo Pensante with Vera Mantero; LabaBewegungsstudien at the Tanzfabrik Berlin; Corpo e Identity in the Theater Space at Rumo do Fumo; Da Ideia ao Projecto at Centro Português of Photography, as examples). As a performer she has worked in video, film and television with directors such as Emily Wardill, Marcelo Félix, Tiago Guedes, Fernando Vendrell Patrícia Sequeira and recently João Botelho. In theater he highlights the work with Nuno M Cardoso, Ricardo Pais, Nuno Cardoso and Mickael de Oliveira. She has also worked as assistant director and started to create with an amateur theater group in the theater of Vilarinha Vilarinha (Porto) and with students at Balleteatro, where she teaches acting and directing. In 2018 she concludes the Structure Resource at Mala Voadora with the co-creation There's something about the air. She is co-creator of Plataforma UMA, artistic structure born in 2020. In the same year, she works with Colectivo84 and LIFCA (artistic research, training and creation creation) in the scientific monitoring of the Laboratory END (meetings of new dramaturgies) dramaturgies) and in collaboration with the project Condomínio - Um Léxico para as artes performing arts.

UMA - Multidisciplinary platform born in 2020, dedicated to research, creation and programming of projects that promote horizontal and messy collaborations between artists and researchers from different disciplines, between thought and practice. UMA was co-founded in Porto by Joana Magalhães, Mafalda Lencastre and Maria Inês Marques.
