The Erotic Clown

Sepideh Khodarahmi is an artist, choreographer and performer who was born in Iran and lives between Sweden and Portugal.

The Erotic Clown: Sepideh Khodarahmi has toured and researched this performance for over seven years. Built around the practice of “cake sitting,” it is a sensory performance that consists of constructing, seducing, and finally sitting on a cake. A vulnerable and poetic interrogation of the erotic potential of destruction. With equal parts disgust, humour, and seduction, it is above all a practice that allows for the reformulation and rearticulation of eroticism. This dynamic exploration of the tension between construction and destruction, pleasure and revulsion engages the audience through a tactile and visceral interaction with the cake, culminating in its destruction. The work delves into themes of decay, self-encounter, and power dynamics.
