Seduction and Destruction as Tools for Liberation

In collaboration with the project Self-Uncensored, Sepideh Khodarahmi proposes an artistic investigation that takes as its starting point the performance Erotic Clown – Cake Sitting.

In this context, it will be directed towards breaking the limits of internalised and external mechanisms of censorship — silent forces that shape what we allow ourselves to say, show, and desire.

Through seduction, destruction, humour and the grotesque — to destabilise performative and self-representational habits — the work dives into excess, pleasure and absurdity, inviting confrontation with inhibition and the discovery of unexpected forms of expression and liberation.

The performative aspects of seduction and destruction are explored, using the erotic as a powerful means of stepping beyond boundaries, diving deeply into a choreography of liberation.

Destruction is used as a tool for transformation, allowing access to new emotional, physical and creative states.

The research will culminate in a public presentation developed from a three-week artistic investigation with a group of creators, in which the audience is invited to witness rituals and performances emerging from the process — a map of choreographies of destruction and seduction.

The presentation will be followed by a talk with the group of artists, moderated by Miguel Moita.

This Self-Uncensored moment is presented as a space for reflecting on seduction as a strategy to subvert and expose the mechanisms of censorship.
