Sepideh Khodarahmi
Sepideh Khodarahmi
Sepideh Khodarahmi is an artist from Iran/Sweden, based between Portugal and Sweden. She studied at the Academy of Music and Drama in Gothenburg, the Hogeschool voor de Kunsten in Amsterdam, and the Broadway Dance Center in New York. Since 2016, she has explored drag as both artistic expression and pedagogy, engaging with themes such as destruction, cakesitting, hypergender, eroticism, intimacy, queerness, and power. In her work, sensuality is both a recurring element and a method. Sepideh has collaborated with Marina Abramović, Hooman Sharifi, and Dinis Machado, and has performed on stages including The Royal Theatre in Stockholm and Teatro Nacional D. Maria II in Lisbon. She also took part in PACAP with Meg Stuart at Forum Dança in Lisbon.
Gustavo Gomes
Gustavo Gomes (1988) is a performer, choreographer, and filmmaker based in Cologne, Germany. His work explores new thresholds of performance and its dialogue with other media, and has been presented at venues such as Radialsystem Berlin, Schauspielhaus Köln, Hombroich Insel Museum, the Ludwig Museum, and HELLERAU. As the director of the company Gustavo Gomes & Co., he collaborates with a multidisciplinary collective to rethink theatrical representation. He has created works for major companies and performed with Ballet of Difference, Osnabrück Tanztheater, Braunschweig Tanztheater, and Dresden Frankfurt Dance Company, working with artists such as Richard Siegal, Jacopo Godani, and William Forsythe.
Passionate about the intersections between dance and film, Gomes has been awarded the Tarkovsky Grant three times, with his films screened at festivals including Brussels Independent, Venice International, and the Berlin Independent Film Festival. He has undertaken residencies at Forecast Platform, HELLERAU, TalentLab Luxembourg, WELTKUNSTZIMMER, VRHAM Festival, EKARD Residency, Quartier am Hafen, and Cité Internationale des Arts Paris. Gomes is also a guest lecturer at the University of Music and Performing Arts Frankfurt and at the Cologne Contemporary Dance Center.
He is currently developing site-specific performances that merge film, movement, and sculpture to explore masculinity, vulnerability, and power, revealing the tensions between strength and fragility in contemporary society.
Mei Liu
Mei Liu is a filmmaker, artist, and performer from Shanghai who is currently based in Amsterdam. She studied in the MA Artistic Research in and through Cinema program at the Netherlands Film Academy and took part in Apichatpong Weerasethakul’s film laboratory in the Amazon rainforest. She received support from the Forecast Platform to work with her mentor artist Lieko Shiga on her research-based performance “Homesick for Another World.”
Mei strives to create new spaces for filmmaking that disrupt existing hierarchies and social interactions. She is currently developing a practice of “cinematic yoga” to gain political and spiritual insights through the process of making films.
