SELF-UNCENSORED [Resistance to technological surveillance in art]

Technology, by monitoring, tends to reduce freedom in art, subjugating it and establishing mechanisms of self-control. Resistance emerges in gestures that reject this surveillance: seeking sensitive alternatives for relationships and creating spaces where art frees itself from technological control or subverts it.

Presentation of “Manual de Resistência para 2050” (Resistance Manual for 2050) by Ana Borralho & João Galante

Manual de Resistência para 2050 is presented as a conference-performance that transforms collapse into a political and poetic gesture. Between body, word and darkness, Borralho & Galante explore failure as a space for listening, collective reinvention and resistance. Manual de resistência para 2050 was born within the scope of the Ideias para o Futuro (Ideas for the Future) project, organised between the Cumplicidades/Eira Festival and the Champalimaud Foundation, based on an invitation to artists and scientists to share with the public their visions for the next 10, 20 or 30 years. A horizon so distant that any fidelity to reality must be compensated for by imagination and fiction.
